Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks (about 1-inch thick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Lemon wedges (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Breading:

  • In one bowl, place flour.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  • In a third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Coat the Steaks:

  • Dredge each steak in flour, making sure it’s fully coated.
  • Dip in the beaten eggs, then coat evenly with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to ensure it sticks well.

Fry the Steaks:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry each steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare.

Rest the Steaks:

  • Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Serve:

  • Serve hot with lemon wedges for a fresh, tangy flavor.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can season the flour with garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or a salad to complete the meal.
  • To make the recipe gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and cornstarch instead of flour.
